“The outdoors in Breda”
Liesbos is Breda’s city campsite, and a visit to the beautiful, historic centre is simply a must. Sights you shouldn’t miss are the Grote Kerk church, one of the top-four monuments of the province, and the mausoleum where the forefathers of the Dutch royal family have been laid to rest. Or visit one of the nearby nature reserves that make up De Baronie van Breda and stealthily (but legally!) cross the Belgian border via the narrow smuggling trails of yore. The charming town of Etten-Leur is even closer by. Shopaholics can visit the Etten-Leur shopping centre, or drive a little further to Rosada Fashion Outlet in Roosendaal. Nature lovers can hop into a special motorboat that is so quiet it is called a whisper boat, and enjoy the peace of stunning wetland area De Biesbosch. Active art lovers can explore the Van Gogh cycle route, which takes cyclists through Zundert, which boasts no fewer than six Van Gogh monuments and is famous for its flower parades. The multilingual campsite staff will be happy to provide you with information about the many cycling, walking and sightseeing opportunities in the area.
