Close to Efteling, this campsite is perfect for young families, but being so close to the Loon and Drunen Dunes National Park, is also perfect for older couples eager to explore the beautiful outdoor surroundings. Interestingly enough, this small-scale campsite more often than not welcomes three generations of the same family at once! As Zwammenberg accommodates not just a campsite, but a hotel, restaurant and cycle café as well, the grandparents can settle down in a comfortable room in the hotel while the younger family members enjoy accommodation in a tent, caravan or motorhome. It’s a nice way for a family to enjoy separate holidays, whilst still being able to come together in the evening for dinner in the restaurant.

At Camping de Zwammenberg, you’ll find ample peace and quiet. It’s the kind of campsite that lives and breathes the notion of ‘a lot in a little’, with everything you’d expect from a campsite, including beautiful panoramas over the surrounding meadows. There’s also a nice playground and several play areas between the fields. In addition, you can also bring your motorhome along, which is the ideal way to explore the region from a permanent ‘base’. Or why not stop off for just a night while you explore the Netherlands, Benelux countries or wider Western Europe?
Lots to do
The campsite provides the peace and quiet while the surrounding area has the action. Tilburg and Waalwijk have attractive urban centres that are easily accessible by bike. Tilburg is also home to some fabulous museums and terraces, although sneaking by Efteling without the younger ones noticing might prove challenging! The Netherlands’ most famous theme park is literally just around the corner. There’s also the truly exciting ‘Bende van de Witte Veer’ cycle route for some added exploration!
