Explore Nature’s Gem
This may be somewhat strange to imagine but ... at De Gerrithoeve you eat at the very spot where the cows once did! Next door is an old barn that has been converted into an indoor playground which means that, even if the weather is not nice, the kids will not be bored. When the weather is good, naturally everyone wants to go outdoors, explore the property. But there is so much to do off the property as well. This rural campsite is the ideal starting point for a wonderful trip through the countryside, whether hiking, cycling, horse riding or mountain biking. This is how you can discover for yourself why Oisterwijk, with its many fens and forests, is also called Nature’s Gem.
In addition, the beautiful village also has a bustling core with charming terraces, lots of fun regional shops and a nice mix of local businesses and surprising exclusive boutiques. The museums in the vicinity are popular as well. Consider Camp Vught National Memorial or the Textile Museum or the Natuurmuseum in Tilburg.
Tip for your visit: choose one of the old Dutch dishes on the menu. Judging from her entry in the guest book, an earlier, bon vivant guest was having difficulty in suppressing her enthusiasm: “Delicious basic menu with, for example, meatballs, a rasher of bacon or pork steak as the main dish. Very reasonably priced, yet fantastically well prepared. Beautiful location, charming and friendly reception: definitely recommended!”
Brabant Bicycle Café
De Gerrithoeve is an official Brabants Fietscafé; a Brabant Bicycle Café. In these bicycle cafés, cyclists are made to feel especially welcome! You can stop by for a delicious bite to eat or a refreshing drink, and make use of facilities such as a repair kit, bicycle pump and e-bike charging station.
