The Van Gogh cycle route starts at Het Noordbrabants Museum. This museum has a collection of artefacts and works of art which have some connection with the art, history and culture of the province of North Brabant and the Southern Netherlands. You will come face to face with genuine Van Gogh paintings in a special pavilion. That’s definitely worth a visit! The Van Gogh cycle route forms part of the cycle route network in Brabant. There is a Van Gogh cycle route sign at every intersection. Follow the Van Gogh cycle route signs from one numbered intersection to the other. Follow the cycle route network signs between the intersections. Ten short routes in the form of loops have been marked out. The routes are joined together by linking sections.

- The Noordbrabants Museum
The Noordbrabants Museum forms part of a beautiful, classical old governmental palace in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Ten paintings by Vincent van Gogh are on display in the museum. They tell the story of the artist’s Brabant origins and his great fascination for peasant life.
- The Bossche Broek
Between junctions 84 and 63 you cycle through the Bossche Broek nature reserve. This comprises mostly grass wetlands with unusual plants. The nature reserve is a paradise for meadow, marsh and water birds, and is typical of the type of landscape that inspired Van Gogh. - Camp Vught National Memorial
Camp Vught National Memorial is located on the site of the only SS concentration camp to have been established in the Netherlands. November 2019 saw the opening of a new permanent exhibition: 'Camp Vught: seven seasons and 32,000 stories'. Camp Vught National Memorial is an official Brabants Fietscafé; a Brabant Bicycle Café.
- Van Gogh Mural ’s-Hertogenbosch
You can divert a few hundred metres from your route at junction 53 to look at the ‘Van Gogh Mural’. This six metre high mural by the Brabant artist Eric van Boxtel focusses on Van Gogh’s social environment. The mural is located in the Sint Lucasstraat. Photos: Len van der Poel
- VVV Tourist Office ’s-Hertogenbosch
The Markt (Market Place) is the oldest of all the squares in ’s-Hertogenbosch. The town slowly grew here from 1185. The Kleine Winst, the birthplace of Hieronymus Bosch is here on the Markt. In front of the building, house number 29, there is a bronze statue dating from 1929. To get there: cycle through the Karrenstraat, just a stone’s throw from the Markt, between junctions 53 and 88. You will arrive in the Markt via the Tweede Korenstraatje or the Minderbroederstraat.
- St. John’s Cathedral
You can divert from the route for a while at junction 88 and cycle towards junction 52 along the Torenstraat. This will take you past St. John’s Cathedral, the city’s pride and joy. This majestic church, built between 1370 and 1529 has a tower, parts of which date from the 13th century. The Gothic church reflects the wealth of ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the late middle ages. It’s possible to climb the cathedral’s tower and enjoy the views from a height of 43 metres.
