Jan Paagman Observatory Asten
Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. For centuries, man has been fascinated by the night sky.
In an effort to make the observatory more accessible to the general public, they started organizing lectures, slideshows, movies and open nights. The Jan Paagman Observatory also houses a planetarium, the Gé Pieterse planetarium, where the trajectories of heavenly bodies can be imitated with a special projection method. The planetarium has over 5000 stars and can show three of the nine planets, namely Venus, Mercury and Mars.
