The place where passing cyclists use to stop at a large wooden picnic table has been the location of the cosy, charming Op de Knip since May 2023. This lovey brasserie and pub/restaurant is on the border of Erp and Uden. Here, cyclists and pedestrians can enjoy coffee or tea with a slice of homemade apple pie topped with a generous dollop of fresh whipped cream. Though this charming guesthouse also serves a delicious, simple lunch five days a week. The menu includes a soup, various sandwiches and salads and the most delicious homemade sausage rolls.
You look out over the vast, naturally green meadows from the large sunny patio. Turn around and you can enjoy bustle of pedestrians and cyclists passing by and parking up. Or in other words: a lovely place to stop off in the vicinity of the Liberation Route Brabant, the cycle route networks 50, 51, 98, 10 and 07 and various nature areas.

Owners Annie and Erik wanted more than just a ‘port of call’. This charming, hospitable coffee house, where you can go all year, is on the corner of Kraanmeer-Knipperdul. Established in three converted sea containers, with both a conservatory and a patio, Annie and Erik have created a wonderful living room feel. It’s a place people enjoy coming back to, as is shown in this review by a passing, non-Brabant guest: ‘That wonderful Brabant conviviality… that’s why I like coming here. If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely come back.’ Furthermore, Op de Knip also has a clear social function. In the winter months, Annie cooks for people who live alone so they can have a lovely meal here together.

Great for cycling
Op de Knip is known for its delicious apple pie, baked according to a family recipe. Almost everything they sell is homemade, with regional ingredients where possible. It’s a region that’s great for cycling. For example, past lake Rauwven in Het Hurkske Nature Reserve or between the pine trees in the Goorse Bossen (forest).
