Het Keelven Brasserie is a popular bicycle café with various cycling and walking packages, a beautiful spacious terrace with a wonderful view of the field and numerous activities (from a covered wagon ride to mini pony walks). It is here that everyone is able to enjoy delicious freshly prepared gastronomic and unique dishes and the wonderful peace and quiet. Het Keelven also has a riding academy, which means you will encounter plenty of people who love equestrian sports. There will also be plenty of dog lovers, because even your faithful four-footed friend is allowed entrance (if on a lead). Located close to cycle junction 32, the “excellent service!” is always willing to give you directions. For example, the route to the Strabrechtse Heide nearby, or the Allemanspad (Everybody’s Path), which starts at the Vennenhorst nature gate.

There are many routes that take you past various windmills, the mere or pool after which the brasserie was named, as well as past the beautiful church of Lierop. You could also explore De Heihorsten nature reserve – on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. For the little ones, a walk with mini ponies is an unforgettable experience, although the playground is just as enjoyable. This would give parents time to enjoy lunch, for example, or a High Tea, both of which have been prepared with passion. The hearty atmosphere inside makes everyone feel right at home. The Keelven lunch plate is a speciality known throughout the region since the choice of delicacies is especially striking, given this reaction: “Remarkably diverse menu.”
Fun activities
In addition to the mini pony walk, there is also a covered wagon available (reservation required!). Go on a ride in the covered wagon together and enjoy the green surroundings of Someren and nearby villages. The covered wagon, which even has wheelchair access, can hold up to 33 people. If you would rather test your driving abilities, check out the tractor agility package. Arranged down to the last detail, thorough instructions will be given, after which you will be allowed on the course to test your skills with this agricultural vehicle. Guaranteed fun!
