From the 16th century, Boxtelsche Watermolen was used as a saw, bark, fulling and grain mill. The complex consisted of four parts, two were powered by the Dommel and two by a branch of the river, ‘Het Smalwater.’ Het Smalwater often burst its banks, flooding the surrounding area. The water board therefore purchased the mills in 1912 and subsequently demolished them. Only the mill house remains. Since 1922, you can buy artisan flour here to bake the tastiest bread, cake and biscuits.
