Guests are amazed throughout the year: “Not only the collection but also the premises are a great discovery trip and a source of inspiration with every visit.” Visitors from all over the world find their way to this building, located in the former Philips industrial complex of Strijp-R, next to the other design hot-spot, Strijp-S.

Complete process
Piet Hein Eek made his breakthrough as an international designer with his graduation project at the Academie voor Industriële Vormgeving (now the Design Academy): a cupboard made out of scrap wood. Even in a period of plenty he designed a frugally shaped cupboard from basic materials. A perfect example of going against the trends of the time, something that Piet Hein Eek has always been renowned for. Instead of specialising, they do everything themselves, and the entire process - from concept to finished result – is visually accessible to the visitors. The result is a complete world inside this massive building in which these activities are put into context. If you want a real insight into how design is achieved, you are at the right address here.

Multifaceted and distinctive
You can see and experience Piet Hein Eek’s own presentation during the Dutch Design Week, but many other designers are also featured. In addition there are three or four new exhibitions in the gallery each year, in collaboration with the Van Abbemuseum. You can enjoy various cabaret performances and concerts every month in the theatre.

Accessibility
Its convenient location in relation to Eindhoven Airport raises its (international) accessibility. A bus stop and Eindhoven Strijp-S railway station are within walking distance and you can be on the motorway within three minutes. You can also park your car for free in the large parking area around the building.
