There is so much to discover in the Collection house, which is an open repository, such as utensils used in life in the Kempen in the past centuries. Does this evoke nostalgic feelings in you as well? Hidden, perhaps, but no less extraordinary because of it. Or, as a Dutch-American guest worded it: “What a beautiful place and what a beautiful interesting museum. I simply don’t understand why it’s not busier here. It’s too bad we live in the United States. Otherwise I would certainly recommend that my friends come visit this place.”

Informal and amazing
The museum organises changing (art) exhibitions in the historic farm every six months. Other activities are organised as well. Every month there is live ‘Castle music’ or storytellers. And don’t forget the museum garden, with its sculpture exhibition: ideal for an interesting stroll within and outside of the castle moat. An actual accordion festival is held during the annual Cityfest, and ’t Oude Slot is also the location of the Battle of the Drums: deafening fun guaranteed! You can also enjoy various activities during the Open Monument Weekend.
Rich History in Veldhoven
‘t Oude Slot van Zeelst was built towards the end of the 16th century. The current farm, built on the foundations of the castle ruins in 1825 and bearing the same name, now plays a cultural heritage role that includes numerous educational projects for children. The museum also increasingly focuses on an international audience, since the world famous ASML has its headquarters in Veldhoven as well. The museum is truly at the heart of Veldhoven’s society.
