Fire destroyed the Volmolen or Waalrese Molen in 1962. A double mill stood on this spot in 1350. The mill in Riethoven was used as an oil mill and the mill in Waalre as a corn mill. In 1792, the mill came into the possession of the cloth manufacturer Pieter Vreede. The current owners bought the remains in 1998 and built a new double watermill. The mill is used as a meeting location an generates power for 20 households.
