“A gem of a museum”
You can hear all about Van Gogh and read his own stories about Nuenen, where he lived and worked from 1883 to 1885, in Van Gogh Village Museum. Who was he, how did he live, and who did he associate with? How did the Potato Eaters come to be made?  Vincent’s Lightlab is unique: discover colour and light in the way that Vincent experimented in his work. There are no fewer than 24 locations in the village that remind us of Van Gogh. Together they form a cycling and walking route which includes interactive information panels in English and Dutch.

From The Potato Eaters to The Starry Night
The Potato Eaters is based on a scene that Van Gogh encountered with a peasant family in Nuenen. Designer Daan Roosegaarde designed what has become the renowned and unique Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path based on Van Gogh’s The Starry Night. Thousands of twinkling stones are embedded in the asphalt. This cycle path between Nuenen and nearby Eindhoven forms part of the Van Gogh Cycle Route

Cycle past the heritage locations in North Brabant
The Van Gogh Cycle Route (435 km) includes a section in the area around Nuenen and Eindhoven. This route is 49 km in length, but it can be shortened to 25 km. It will of course take you along the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path, located just outside Nuenen.

Nuenen is easily accessible and is located close to the design and technology city of Eindhoven.
