Dementia week

Dealing with dementia is not always easy, but everyone will probably have to deal with it in their lives. Sometimes in your immediate vicinity, sometimes on the street or in the supermarket. Saturday 21 September is Worldwide Alzheimer's Day. Around this, an extensive program has been organized in the Heuvel shopping center between Wednesday 18 and Saturday 22 September that aims to contribute to further awareness and to put people with dementia and their caregivers in the spotlight.
During this week, there are a large number of completely free activities that offer a unique opportunity to learn more about dementia and its impact in an accessible way. Think of informative sessions where you can talk to specialists from various organizations that are committed to the care and support of people with dementia, interactive workshops or a VR experience to experience what dementia can do to you. There are also moments of relaxation and togetherness, such as dancing together, enjoying a lunch concert or meeting each other at the contact square. There are also a number of activities that focus on pampering caregivers so that they can catch their breath for a moment.
The Week of Dementia is a unique collaboration between the Heuvel shopping center, Alzheimer Nederland, Mantelzorg Verlicht, Vitalis, Netwerk Dementie, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Ervarea Switch2move, de Liefdesdokter and MiMakkus.
