The French box office hit L'amour ouf is an epic cocktail of nostalgia, love, and violence. Director Gilles Lellouche brings together a French star-studded cast for a raw, romantic fairytale set during the 80s and 90s. Lellouche drew inspiration from Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and West Side Story, giving a modern twist to the Romeo and Juliet story.
In L'amour ouf, we see the teenage love blossom between the outsider Jackie and the rebellious Clotaire. Their relationship is put to the test when Clotaire chooses the wrong path. When he ends up in prison due to gang violence, they lose contact with each other. Years later, Clotaire tries to get his life back on track and sets out to find Jackie. Can love overcome all? L'amour ouf competed at the Cannes Film Festival and received a remarkable 13 nominations at the César Awards.
