Helmond, Together for freedom!

In the context of the 80 years of liberation of Helmond, with the theme 'Brabant, Bridge to Freedom', the Helmond Veterans Foundation is organizing an activity for all residents of Helmond and surrounding areas on September 15, 2024. As the name 'Helmond, Together for Freedom!' already suggests, this activity is intended to give everyone the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of our soldiers, then and now. A spectacular afternoon full of activities with exciting Defense demonstrations, informative stands and activities.   The main part of the program on September 15 takes place on Piet Blomplein and Burgemeester Geukerspark. The Royal Netherlands Air Force (Volkel Air Base) and the Defense Ground Air Defense Command (DGLC de Peel) will be present with their personnel and demonstrations, including an E-ONE fire vehicle, a dog demonstration and various military systems such as the Stinger weapons platform FENNEK, Stinger MANPAD configuration, NASAMS missile launcher, HAWK surface-to-air missile and 40L70 anti-aircraft guns. You will also find informative stands of various veterans organizations here.   The activity 'Helmond, Together for freedom!' is free to attend from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and is freely accessible to all interested parties from Helmond and the surrounding area.
