About the Performer
Toon IJzerman (1998) is a talented organist, pianist and harpsichordist. His musical education began at the age of five with piano lessons with Cecilia Laenen.
He then studied organ with Ad van de Wege and Cor Ardesch before starting his studies at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg in 2016. There he receives lessons from Ruud Huijbregts for literary performance, harpsichord and basso continuo, Jelena Bazova for literary performance and Wouter van der Wilt for improvisation. He continued his piano studies with Simon van ‘t Hoff for classical piano and Sjoerd van Eijck for jazz piano.
He has also participated in various master classes by, among others, Rubin Abdullin and Jean-Baptiste Robin. Despite his young age, he has performed extensively at home and abroad. His broad musical interests range from early music to contemporary music. In addition to his musical training, he is also a Mechanical Engineering student at TU Eindhoven.
