The exhibition A Stranger I Depart explores the connection between personal and collective stories, and how they can meet in a world that feels both hyper-connected and deeply divided. The central question is: How do we find connection in a time of collective alienation? The exhibition offers a starting point for this quest, in which alienation is not seen as an end point, but as an opening to new encounters and connections.

Visitors are invited to reflect on their own experiences of alienation and connection in a world that is constantly changing.

The title A Stranger I Depart is taken from the poem Gute Nacht by Wilhelm Müller, composed by Franz Schubert in his song cycle Winterreise. Together they form a symbolic journey to meaning in an unknown world—a journey that is both physical and existential. It is a human search for himself and for connection in a world that is becoming increasingly unclear.
