UNA Proms ‘The Past and the future’

The past: It is 1877. Cigar manufacturer Van Best in Valkenswaard provides his employees with some ‘relaxation after work.’ He founds a factory band, which is aptly named UNA. The future: Everything that happens thereafter is the future. Turbulent times, times of war, poverty, fear, and hope. However, the sounds of UNA continue to bring the people of Valkenswaard and beyond some relaxation. The cigar industry heavily declined, but the Koninklijke Harmonie UNA continued to remain strong. The past & the future: Under this name, UNA will once again play two ‘proms concerts.’ They will merge past and future into one and take you on a journey through a variety of music styles that were once considered the future.
